One of my friends friend apparently applied as African American ethnically when he was in fact indian. He ended up getting into multiple medical schools, and while I am not saying its because of the ethnic group he identified as, he had previously applied year before as Indian and gotten no response. I was wondering if medical schools actually verify ethnicity and if this is actually a common occurrence, because I was concerned/confused when hearing this story.

Try harder...

Maybe he was lying to you? Med schools would know he's a reapplicant, and check his previous file.

It's happened once before, with Mindi Kahling's brother.

We don't do DNA tests on applicants. We expect people to be honest.
