I'm currently a premed college senior seriously considering optometry. I recently took the OAT and scored a 310 total science. Is a 310 ts and a 3.7 gpa good enough to apply to some schools of optometry? Thanks. 🙂

No. Sorry. You're doomed.

The 3.7 GPA is above average. As for the the OAT score, I believe the academic average score carries more weight than the total science. But the thing about the OAT is that you can always retake it. What was your academic average score?

Academic Average=310 also

I think you can get into optometry school with that. You have a better than average gpa, so it should counter out the oat score.

haha i doubt that, with a 3.7 you should at least get an interview, and that is where you charm them into giving you that acceptance!
good luck!

Profile for 2004 Entering Class
http://www.opted.org/info_profile2.cfm

The 2004 incoming class for schools like NECO, PCO, MCO have an avg AA OAT score of 310 and their avg GPA is much lower than yours, NECO: 3.17, PCO: 3.22 and MCO: 3.3. Theres more schools that have avg AA OAT that is on par with yours but i dont want to list them all. It seems your GPA is defintiely above avg and your OAT score, for certain schools, is not bad.

Theres others things to consider, did you do activites while in college? Do you have any experience with the field of optometry?

If you dont mind me asking, what school do you go to and whats your major?
