This might be a silly question,but I just want to make sure this is correct....

If a patient is diagnosed with Hepatitis A, you give all family members in contact with the patient Hep. A Immunoglobulin tx.

It makes sense, but I'd like to be sure this is right.....

Intuitively I would think that sanitary precautions would be enough for family members. BUT reading the AFP guidelines, apparently all close contacts which I guess include all household members should receive immune globulin.
