what can u use to treat gas (belching/flatulence) or for reflux for a patient with renal failure

Zippy...your question seems as if you're asking for medical advice....????? Personal medical advice should not be solicited here.

If you're not...in a very general sense....you can use simethicone for gas - not absorbed from the gi tract.....

But..if you want something besides that for reflux, we need to be sure you're not seeking medical advice. If you need that, you need to seek out your own physician &/or pharmacist.

Good luck!

sdn1977 is correct -if this is indeed an advice question, it needs to go to the patient's personal physician.

I had a nurse come by once asking for something OTC besides simethicone for her husband's painful gas. Apparently he was on an all fruit fad diet and refused to give it up. She got so mad when I told her there was nothing else and the only way to get rid of the gas was to back off on the fruit. Too, bad, so sad. She's a nurse. She ought to be able to accept reality.
