The answer is 5 years (Option 3).

It develops from the oral epithelium during the 5th/6th wk i.u. (the first sign of tooth development; INITIATION: beginning of the formation of primary teeth) and has a total average life span (excluding the rests of Serre) of 5 years i.e INITIATION of 3rd permanent molars.
