I have a friend who took step 2... During step 2 ck they had a fire drill while he just finished the 7th block... He thought he had one hour and 15 minutes left when the drill occurred.. Only to find out that when he came back from the drill he only had 10 minutes left..
The terrible part is that Prometric acknowledged this and told the Board people what happened..
And the Board people are saying basically pay for a new exam if you were too far from passing with only 10 minutes left for the 8th block..

My question is what kind of lawyer would one use in this kind of injustice??

wow. does the school have any legal services he can use?

i.e. free ones.

No, he is on his own.. but I may accompany him down to Philly on Monday for moral support..While he dialogues with the Board people and then perhaps treat him to an infrequent "Philly cheese steak"..
I want to talk to the Board people too, but luckily(knock on wood) not about this!

I just wanted to tell him what kind of lawyer he should get if he gets one...

"Boy this thing takes guts" :luck:

Thats funny..Its ok, maybe just a criminal lawyer since they basically stole an hour and 5 minutes from him during block 8 of step 2 ck under the guise of a fire drill??

I would think your buddy would do better with a civil lawyer. I doubt it was a criminal matter. You'd probably be better going after them for a breach of contract/violating published exam policies/etc or something like that. There are lots of minutia to this that I'm no where close to understanding...

So my friend spoke to the Board people: They did not say they would pro-rate the exam... They said: We'll evaluate your exam if you are only a few points from passing without block 8 you can take the exam over for free... If you are too many points from passing without block 8 you will have to pay for the exam..
Now for my friend like myself passing this exam in so many words is an uphill struggle.. We are not one of those people who get 99.. it just seems so unfair how they actually took one hour and five minutes from him after the fire drill and would not compensate him or even be fair!!
