I know this question has been asked numerous times before but I guess I just needed to know that I wasn't the only one out there planning on taking this route. I wanted to find out if there are people on SDN that took all of their pre-requisite science classes and some higher level science classes at a community college and were still able to gain acceptance into medical school?

Your best course of action would be to call some of the schools you are interested in and talk to someone in admissions about this. Every school is different, so try to talk to as many as you can. Good luck!

I had Chem and physics from my undergrad degree. I took bio and organic chem at a CC.

Upper level classes are not offered at community colleges by definition. CCs are 2 year schools.

The CC was great because it is cheap, was close to work and offered evening classes and had great teachers. I had to drive in the middle of the day to take 2 upper level classes at the closest state school which cost 4x as much and the instructors weren't that great.

I didn't have any issues with the CC classes, but I checked to make sure it transfered.

thanks for the responses guys. I've already written a few emails to some of the schools that I want to apply to. I'm just waiting for them to respond. I guess I was starting to freak out because I'm going to start my summer classes and I didn't want to have put in so much time and effort just to have my med school dreams dashed.
