If I submitted my application, but it hasn't been verified and I want to add more schools, should I just wait till it is verified to add those schools or should I add them and resubmit my application? Basically if I resubmit my application when it isn't verified will that become my new submission date and put me further behind in getting verified?

You can add them now without effecting where you are in the "line" for verification. So, no, you will not be further delayed in the process.
