Can someone please explain the difference between Intracerebral hemorrhage and Charcot Bouchard Aneurysm? I'm confused as to are they synonyms; if not, then what's the difference? Thanks!

an aneurysm is an expansion of a blood vessel. It is a point of weakness. If an aneurysm breaks open, it hemorrhages.

Charcot-Bouchard aneurysms occur in the microvasculature of the brain, so when one break's you get an intracerebral/parenchymal bleed. You also get such a blled if anything else also causes a hemorrhage in the area. This is in contrast to berry aneurysms, which occur on vessels in the subarachnoid space, producing subarachnoid hemorrhage
