You guys probably get this question a lot.

Do you think I should major in Biochemistry/chemistry or Physiology/Neuroscience?

Physiology/Neuroscience seems much easier, and and I think I can get a higher GPA, but other than that, I'm looking for more reasons to make the right decision.

Which major will best prepare me for MCAT more?
Which major will best prepare me for med school in general?

I know that majors have nothing to do with getting into med school, but I would like to know which choice would be better for me.

Thank you!

I think both Biochemistry and Physiology would prepare you equally as well for the MCAT, perhaps just in different areas. Biochemistry major, however, is a LOT of math. MUCH more so than that of physiology. At my school, for example, it is mandatory for biochem majors to complete Calculus III and recommended to go even higher.

IMO, Physiology would be a hell of a lot more interesting and i think (others may not) it would prepare you well for medical school.

This is all my personal opinion, however, so take it as you wish.

I agree. I was a biochemistry major and had to take more math than I felt was worthwhile. I think either major will prepare you well, however. I assume that if you're a physiology major, you can take the biochemistry sequence as well, and vice versa. So pick the one you're most interested in and can get the highest GPA.

major in what YOU want. stop asking random people on the internet because you're going to end up doing something you don't like. the adcoms won't care so much about what your major is in light of a good gpa and good MCAT (along with ECs).
