is it true that some dats are harder than others and that they scale them accordingly? also is it true that they put test questions on some that may be used on future dats that dont get averaged in your score?

Yes and yes..
The first question is just str8 up true...some are way harder than others.....but they are graded accordingly
Secondly.....the test questions u r referring to are during the PAT section only

So if I got a 20 on the BIO section, it might have actually been a 22 or an 18 but the score was rounded to account for the level of difficulty of the test?

I think the DAT is only "scaled" percentile wise.

Ex. If you miss 10 questions and get a 17 you may be in the 55th percentile on an "easy" version of the DAT, but if you miss 10 questions on a "hard" version you would still get a 17 but you might be in the 65th percentile. (These numbers are just an example)

I'm pretty sure the number of questions to qualify for a given score within a section is uniform between different versions of the DAT.

Admissions only receives a standard number score and not a percentage score, so there is no advantage to taking a more difficult version of the DAT.
