If I decide to go to school in the midwest or east coast is it a lot harder to get into residency programs or even work back on the west coast. Does it hurt my chances? I would love to go to some of the schools on the east coast or midwest to get the experience of living somewhere different but really hope to end up on the west. That's where I have grown up and where all my family is. Let me know thanks!

That's a legit concern. Luckily most common questions like this have already been specifically addressed and answered in other threads. Here's what a quick search turned up:

1. Residency Matching
2. Getting into residencies
3. Residency matches more probable with attending certain schools?
4. Does Pod School Affect your residency placement?
5. Where did you match?

That's a ton of reading material; so we don't have to :beat:

PS: I wonder why it's always the west-coasters who are worried about returning to the west coast. You never see an east-coaster worry that he/she won't end up back east.
