I took a research course, under the school of biology, and got an A. I also took another course under the school of chemistry, a prep chemistry course, and got an A-. Under my school transcript, the two courses are considered electives. But according to the guidelines of the AADSAS, those two courses are considered science courses. Both course are recognized as sciences and are under science schools. So my question is that do these courses counts towards my sGPA for dental school even though the are under electives for my undergraduate transcipt?

Thanks for the help! 🙂

I'd say roughly 98%+ of the time if they have the prefix of a course AADSAS considers a science course, it will go under your Science GPA. AADSAS reserves their own right to audit and switch courses at their discretion if they feel it not be fit.

When you mean prefix, does the title of the class actually have to contain the words "chem" or "bio" or does it merely mean it just has to be a course under the school of Bio or school of Chem. Because my bio research courses does not say Bio in the name of the research but it is under the school of bio, primarily a evolution/ecology research.

If it is under School of Science, its considered a science course.

I'm not sure about your school, but my school has departments. So if its offered by the Biology, Chemistry, or Physics department, they are considered science courses and included in your BCP GPA. For me AADSAS audited one of my courses even though it was offered by the physics department. However, I called and got it changed/corrected. So even if they audit, they may be wrong.

Oh yes, by pre-fix I had meant "department." As in the name of the department the course originated from your school.
