I am planning to submit my application right when it opens on June 3rd. However, my pre-health advising office guarantees the committee letter to be completed by August, which is pretty late.

So do schools send you interview invites even if your committee letter is not in?

Also, when is the earliest people start getting interview invites? Do a lot of schools call for an interview? I'm worried because I might be out of the country in June/July.

Thank you!

i highly doubt many schools would. the schools that i applied to (all 16 of them) said that i would have to have everything in to them in order for my file to be reviewed.

since my health committee took forever (one of many complaints), i opted not to get the committee letter. btw, it isn't the end of the world if you don't have a committee letter.

True. I already submitted the huge committee letter package on the first week of April though. Sigh. I guess I will talk to my advisor about it...

I'm in a similar boat, actually. My school isn't sending any committee letters out until August. I think they do this to be fair to all their students (since the committee interviews students over the summer).

I have seen most of my friends and acquaintances get into medical/dental/optometry school during the years, so I'll stick with it. I'm sure my alma mater wouldn't purposefully be screwing their students over. If this is their policy and it's working (they have a good track record of having their students accepted), then I'm not going to argue with it.

Maybe my school is great with time, but a friend of mine who applied last year used committee and still got interview call around august.
