hey all, I don't think this is the appropriate thread to ask these questions but I'm so confused right now, hopefully somebody can answer my questions.

So I've decided to apply this year (sort of a last minute decision)
My background: currently I'm finishing up my masters degree at a different institution from my undergrad. For applying to med school they require a premedical advisors packet or something. Does that mean I need a pre-med advisor in my current school? I couldn't find such a thing, only a reference file service. Can I send all my letters of recommendation directly to AMCAS instead?

Also a personal opinion, should I include experiences from a long time ago such as freshman year?

*edit* also I have not fulfilled some of the premed course requirements. For example I've only taken one semester of inorganic chemistry. My current institution is on quarters however so I am not sure how many extra classes I need to take. Should I take it after I graduate at another institution that is semester based?

Don't apply to med school if you haven't taken the required classes yet. As far as I know, no one would let you in. When people want committee letters, it is usually from your undergrad institution.

the schools that do say on their website that they will consider you if you are lacking a few of the requirements are:
- Emory
- Washington
- Medical University South Carolina (they dont have premed requirements)

oh.....what i meant is.....right now I don't have the 2nd semester chemistry lab. But I do plan on taking that from another university by the time i matriculate if I'm accepted into the programs. So it seems the committee letters are still required from my undergraduate institution even though I graduated there 2 years ago?

If your undergrad institution has a premed committee, most schools expect to get a composite letter/evaluation package from them.
