I have been using destroyer for the paat week, needless to say i love the damm book!!! Wayyy better qeustions than my kaplan class....But how does destroyer help you?? Like are the questions similar to those of the real DAT?

You obviously cannot get exact DAT questions from any book...the destroyer though, in my opinion is pretty dead on in the material that you do need to know for taking the exam.....study it well including all the wrong answer choices and you should have what you need to take the exam but the key is knowing the material

I was wondering the same thing. I feel the bio section is pretty easy since I barely miss any questions. But I am having trouble with the o-chem section. I am missing quite a few in there, but that is definitely my weakest section. I have taken detailed notes and studied through Kaplan BB and understand the Destroyer roadmaps well now too.

But now as I am doing the questions, I am still having some trouble. I know people say that Destroyer o-chem is harder, and you learn from the solutions. I would like to know whether that's the general consensus or not.

My test is in a little over a weeeek!

Kaplan blue book has been helping me alot as well as flash cards. If you have them I highly recomend using them. If not go through you old orgo exams if you still have them. There helping me out tremendously.

The point in destroyer isnt getting all of the questions right. Many of them you can guess and yay you got it. However the point is to understand each question and each answer because there are very important keys and facts veiled in the answers. Go through all of the questions and make sure you understand them all and you should be golden.

Thanks Klutzy, yea I've been going through it in that manner. I did about 70 problems and got probably about 40 correct legitimately but I've been spending time reading the solutions. Hopefully, that will help me do better on the actual exam.

Just to let everyone know on the actual DAT there are no questions with choices a,b,c,a&d, all of the above. They dont have that. On the DAT one solution is correct and the rest are wrong. The reason they are in the destroyer is so that more points can be covered.

As Klutzy said the key to the book iss knowing the information contained in the solutions. That is where there is an abundant amount of topics covered as opposed to just telling you which answer is right. Basically, each problem in the book is like 4 problems in one and you need to know everything in there.

As everyone already said, its important to understand the questions and understand why the answer is the correct one, and why the other choices are wrong. If your having problems, reread your notes or texts and do the questions over again before test day. Best of luck!!

👍If you want an awesome score in the orgo section i would suggest the ORGANIC CHEMISTRY ODYSSEY by dr jim romano. it covers every possible question you could possibly ever see on the dat. The answers are personally explained by dr romano himself. you get hand written answers by dr romano himself which makes it much earier to understand. If you read through this book and understand all the answers i guarantee you a score above a 25.

Dude calm down thats a bit extreme. You cant guarantee anything. The book is thorough and complete but is a little bit of an overkill for the DAT. Stick to the destroyer and you should be ok. Oddysey is better for O-chem class in college as a review guide/mini textbook. As a DAT prep its a bit much.

pump the brakes...

I 2nd that...When it came and i opened it up I didnt realize it was a photocopy of SOMEBODIES NOTES!!!!!!!!!😱

It is not notes it is the authors handwritten detailed explanations on how to solve the problem. Often times it is difficult to follow the train of thought of the author when it is computerized. When it is handwritten is is often easier to follow.
