Hey guys,

So as I am finishing up my pre-reqs, currently taking O-chem, Physics and volunteering at a hospital through the clinical care extender program, and also a private tutor on the side.

Just curious when I have to list my ECs on my application, is there a way I have to be able to prove on paper that I was a private tutor?

I mean, I can definitely show some sort of proof for my volunteer experience at the hospital, but I'm not sure how I can show (if needed) that I was a private tutor.

Also, after I finish O-chem and Physics, I plan on taking anatomy and physio, both with lab during the summer, and adding those courses as "planned" on my applications.

The problem is, I took general biology and UCI, and none of the gen bio classes actually came with a lab. I'm not sure why, but none of the general biology was offered with any labs, because they were non-existent. Would this be a problem when I submit my applications because I dont have gen bio WITH lab, and the only lab for biology i have is planned under anatomy and physiology???

It's unlikely that you'll be asked for proof. Not sure about your lab situation though.

I did a lot of private tutoring as well and also didn't have any proof. I was never asked for proof nor was my credibility questioned by any schools.

Concerning the bio courses with lab, you just need to fulfill the requirement of 1 years worth of bio courses w/ lab by the time of your matriculation. If you have lab courses planned, make sure to label these courses as such ("planned") in your primary application.

Also, I think that you meant to say that you go to UCI (University of California, Irvine), which is where I went for undergrad. I know that at UCI, you need to take upper div bio courses in order to take their corresponding labs.

Hope that answers your questions
