Questions about Goldwater

Hi, I am interested in applying for Goldwater. I have around 2.5+ years of experience in both clinical and basic science research. However, I haven't been able to present my research due to my PI's concerns about data security and roadbumps in my projects that are extending the timeline for it. My name is on an expected publication (has not been submitted yet, but will be soon), but besides that I do not have any publications. Would I be considered as a competitive applicant/is it worth me even applying?

For the Goldwater scholarship, you should work with your university's office dealing with international scholarships (like Rhodes, Churchill, etc.). Goldwater specifically wants people who intend to pursue a research/PhD career. Those pursuing health professions careers are specifically discouraged.
