Hi I just recently graduated with my associate's degree and recently got my RN and I am considering medical school but due to really poor decisions on my part I have a pretty low GPA it is I believe a 2.3. I was wondering what can I do to look like a better applicant I also intend to pursue a master's degree as an NP.

If you only have your associate's degree, then you need to get your bachelor's in something. So first of all, you need to get enrolled in a 4 year college in any major of your choosing. Just keep in mind that you need to take all your med school prereqs as well. With only an associate's degree, I'm guessing you have less than 70 credit hours done already. If so, then your GPA may be salvageable with acing all the classes you'll be taking for your bachelor's. If you bring both your cumulative and science GPAs above 3.0, and you're able to get a 505+ on the MCAT, then your chances will be good for DO schools. With a cumulative and science GPAs above 3.4 and a 512+ MCAT, then you might have some luck with mid to low tier MD schools.
