Hi to those who have studied in Australia:

I want to ask:

Assuming I can get an internship in Australia upon graduation, can I apply for PR after the 1-year internship?

On the immigration website, I saw that "general medical practitioner" is on the occupation list. http://www.immi.gov.au/skilled/general-skilled-migration/pdf/sol.pdf

Does it refer to those who have completed 1 year of internship, or to those who have more years of training and received a "GP" status?

I am asking because it seems their "GP" training residencies admit only Aus/NZ citizen and PR.....?

Thank you in advance.

Residencies here are called "vocational training" and you are deemed a "registrar". In fact, for the most part, if you're a "resident" it means you're not in a dedicated training program (for the most part).

I'm not sure about only admitting citizens or PR, but they certainly get priority.
