🙄 I am ankle deep in secondaries and have a few questions I thought I would air out 🙄

1) I did research with a grad student at my school for almost two years. He is submitting a paper to Nature Biotech. I was VERY disappointed when I found out that my name would only be in the acknowledgements section.

2) My name was put as the author of a poster at the 2003 BMES conference

3) I took an independent research study abroad class. My paper was published in the class book and I presented at the class symposium.

Do any of these count as "publications or abstracts presented at national meetings"?

Were you in Nashville? That's the year I went! This year it's in Penn; I wish I could go, but I didn't submit an abstract (2nd author on two) 🙁

As for the listing... putting down an acknowledgement under pubs might be a stretch, but I would put down the 2ndary authorships and class presentations somewhere and somehow make it clear that you worked on the project somewhat. I was in a similar situation before (although not Nat Biotech!), but making sure your own project goes well is what's really important.

Haha, I went to Nashville as well, and I'll be in Philly for this year's meeting. I don't mean to change topic too heavily here, but who else on this forum is planning on going to BMES in October?
