Not sure if this is the right place to ask, but are Temple, Michigan State, Wake Forest, and U of Iowa very OOS unfriendly? I want to eliminate a few of the above schools and I'm out of state for all.

I calculated the % of OOS applicants they interview based on MSAR data and honestly still can't really tell if it's OOS unfriendly because so many med schools I've looked at interview like 2-3%..

Thanks so much!

Temple and Wake definitely, Iowa a little bit (especially if you're from the midwest and have strong stats), Michigan State is not.

Without knowing your stats, Temple and Wake are the best of the bunch to keep.

To clarify, Temple and Wake do NOT have IS preference but Michigan State does?

I had asked which ones are OOS unfriendly and you said "Temple and Wake definitely" so I just wanted to make sure 🙂 Thanks so much!

MSU = most unfriendly, followed by Iowa. Temple and Wake are friendly to OOS.

Look at the #s of OOS applicants to #s of OOS interviews to #s of OOS accepts, and compare them to IS. Then compare schools to each others.

U IA is very OOS unfriendly. So are the new FL schools like FIU and FAU. Temple and Wake are fine.

Temple seems to only interview 6% OOS whereas Iowa interviews 12% OOS. Doesn't that show that Temple is less OOS friendly? What's the relative cutoff percentage I should use when assessing which schools have in-state bias?
