Questions about the DAT/Dentpin

I signed up to take the DAT later this year but I won't be applying until next cycle. Could you guys please answer some of my questions?

How long does it take the ADA to audit your unofficial scores to make them official? Does the ADA notify you once your scores are official or will they only do that if something comes up? I didn't indicate any schools to send scores to so I won't know through the ADSAS system.

Also, will my scores expire? (don't they last 3 years?) Would my official score be saved to my dentpin for next year?

You don't have to indicate to send scores, and it will be uploaded the AADSAS when you start your application next year. You just have to enter your Dentpin into your AADSAS app to get your DAT scores.

Not sure about the expired part, but dental schools usually don't look at DAT scores that are older than 3 years (some even 2 years). You will start a new AADSAS app for every year and will have to rematch your DAT with your app via your dentpin.

No, they didn't notify me.

You get an unofficial scoresheet right after your test, and unless they caught you cheating, there's no reason for them to contact you.

You can request an official copy for like $25 a few weeks after your test (after they finish auditing).

I haven't heard of anyones scores being changed either. So basically the copy you get is all you need!
