Questions about the DAT score reports. Please HELP!!!

Hi everyone.

I am planning to apply for Dental school next cycle (2012 fall) and take the DAT test on Jan 2012.

Right now, I am trying to register for DAT and I have questions about the score reports.

So, it seems like if I don't choose the schools that I want my DAT to be sent when I am registering, I have to pay $25 each for the score to be sent.

First question that rise is that if there is any disadvantage or problem with checking every single school that is listed for score to be sent.

Another question is that wouldn't it be awkward for my score to be sent to the Dental school before my 2012 AADSAS application arrives to them?
Or is this the schools that I can choose to send the score later when I am actually doing the AADSAS application process.

Any inputs will be appreciated!

I was wondering this too! I took mine already in August but am not applying until May. But I have the EXACT same questions (except I thought we were only allowed to select up to 8 schools to send the reports too?)

Yeah! You see your scores right after you're done. It's scary waiting but then you're so relieved once you see it and you don't have to wait 30 days to find out!

In retrospect, I'd do it. I don't think it matters. If you don't have an app, they'll probably toss it eventually. It's nice if you decide to designate extra schools later, they already have your scores. Sooooo I say dooo ittt!

I don't think there is a limit. I think there was one a few years back.

Hmm, if they toss it, than what is the point of sending them the score at first place? Maybe if we sent already, we can send it for free of charge when we actually do the application later on? I am confused and I need to register for the test ASAP 😕

It doesn't hurt to send it to the schools. Either way, if you are going to apply there anyways, they will see all your scores regardless. Send it while it's free

Yeah it's free as long as you designate which schools you want them sent to initially. Any subsequent reports cost moolah
