I want some opinions about whether it's important to buy new editions of certain review books or if the older editions are fine.
I already have:
Robbins Review of Pathology (1st Edition, 2000)
Katzung & Trevor's Pharmacology Examination & Board Review (6th Edition, 2002)
Pretest Microbiology (11th Edition, 2005)
Pretest Pharmacology (11th Edition, 2005)
High Yield Pathology (2000)
High Yield Neuroanatomy (1995)
High Yield Immunology (1999)
Did anyone use these review books to study for Step I this year (2007) and find that the information is fine? Or is there a need to buy newer editions because the information in the older editions are so outdated. I know there is a 2nd Edition for Robbins and a 7th Edition for Katzung & Trevor, but should I get them even though I have the older editions? Pretests are probably fine because they are from 2005, even though I noticed the new version is thicker than the older versions. What about the High Yield series?
I'm planning to take Step I next year (2008) assuming that I pass my 2nd year classes. Thanks!
