I know Tufts started a master's program last year, sort of like the Georgetown SMP program. I'm thinking of applying to this program but wanted to know a little more about it. Since its such a new program, I'm wondering if anyone who did the Tufts MBS program this year can lend me some insight on the quality of the program.

Yes, Tufts did start an MBS program last year, and I am part of the inaugural class. This program is extremely rigorous as that all of our classes are either identical or just as rigorous as the med school classes. Our pathology class is on par with the 2nd year med students and our anatomy is pretty rigorous (just w/o the cadaver). The class average for virtually every exam is 80% or above and several times we score either higher or just as high as the med school class. You really need to come ready to work - expect to spend 90% of your waking hours studying or in class.

Not trying to scare anybody off...as that I think all of these qualities are good b/c if you do well here - you will in all earnest show that you are ready for med school.

Woah, thanks for the quick reply. Wow, it actually sounds pretty intense, especially the pathology class. It seems like this program really mirrors the med school curriculum, but I'm a little wary of how new it is. Is there any reason to choose this program over say a more established program like Georgetown or BU?
