I was recently on an interview at Vanderbilt and found myself liking the program a lot. However, I have two concerns that I was hoping someone could address;
1) I only met one intern which was a bit of a red flag for me. It left me wondering where all the interns were and uncertain how much they like the program which, I understand has recently undergone some serious changes.
2) I was unimpressed by the morning report. There was really only superficial coverage of the topics at hand and I got the impression that people were just going through the motions. This left me wondering where residents got most of their teaching and how good it was. Moreover, attendance was rather low leading me to again wonder where the interns were.
If anyone out there could comment on these points - or on the program in general - I would appreciate it. I really liked the program and the people and am only hesitating on ranking it highly because of these two issues.
