Questions about where I should apply..

My stats are under my predents profile.

I am a TX resident. I am pretty set on staying in Houston, so of course I am hoping to get accepted to UTDB Houston. I was planning on applying to only the 3 TX schools, but one of the guys that I volunteer with says that I should apply to several out of state schools so that Houston offers me more scholarship money.

Is there any validity in what he says?

i'm sorry to burst your bubble, but you don't any chance. this year the new GPA average is 4.0 and the DAT should be at least AA of 29-30. So you should apply to all the dental schools to increase your chances...

Do they not give out scholarships for being a genius anymore? I thought that usually seals the deal. Great stats though... I am just hoping for an interview at this point. haaaaa

I think your friend's idea that Houston would give you more scholarship money if they find out you have applied to other schools is wrong.
If I'm not mistaken, most of dental schools decide their scholarship recipients before they make the announcement for acceptance. Thus, they won't know if you got into other schools (of course they can guess no school will reject your stats 😉) before they make their decision. Also, it is unlikely that there will be any negotiation afterwards.

Not sure if what he says has validity...but your stats are EXCELLENT!😀 I think you should apply to the 3 TX schools plus a few more top schools like Harvard, Columbia, Penn, and UConn. (7 schools should be a good amount for you!)

I know UConn offers full tuition scholarship and Penn offers the Dean's scholarship that covers half your tuition! Not a bad deal at all and they are the best schools...with your stats I think you will get into all those!😉

PS. If you have excellent stats on here, you will get a lot of hate so just don't pay attention to it.
