Has anyone received personal emails from the PD and/or interviewers regarding their interview ?
Secondly, does any one know of what areas in New Haven are reasonably cheap?

I remember them specifically saying that they don't contact people but are happy to respond to inquiries.

There are a wide variety of housing arrangements surrounding Yale New Haven Hospital. You can live right next to the hospital in Crown Towers or Crown Court or Madison Towers. I would also check out University Properties for slightly more expensive, but really nice places that are downtown. If you are the house/neighborhood type person...look in East Rock, otherwise affectionately known as the grad ghetto--though it is far, far from a ghetto. Lots of houses, little cafes, and it's close to the park and running trails. All fairly reasonably priced. Good luck.

Does anyone remember whether interns do attend morning report at Yale? If so, can anyone who did their SubI or an elective or even a resident describe how morning report is run and who attends?

I don't know if this is going to change for next year, but interns did NOT attend morning report. They do attend a noon conference, grand rounds, and on Friday they have their own conference with either the PD or the chairman and the chief residents.

Morning report is attended by the senior residents and is typically run by the chiefs.

overall--the teaching is extremely protected for interns and done very well. There is also excellent morning didactics during the ER and possibly ambulatory blocks.
