Step I questions /day and such

How many questions perday did you guys do in the early part of studying ie;2-3 months before d-day (qbank,USMLERX).Also is it better to do questions on the subj you are studying or pick random qustions??
I always do bad if i pick random ones and then feel ****ty afterwards.
Another thing is i have heard of ppl doing the qbank just to study the material presented in it..just like a review course of sorts..how feasible is this idea??

well, i am not sure how much help i will be but here goes 🙂
i started out with first aid, and got through it.. very dry. some sections i re-read, some i didnt.. it didnt stick very well..
then i took a couple of weeks and listened to goljan 2x...
i didt try to memorize.. he has some amazing tricks if you pay attention the material will seemingly magically stick!
then i started q-bank...wanted a month to get through as many q's as possible...it was amazing how many i could answer by goljans voice in my head!
i am in the lower 50's right now.. i do 150 questions per day and study the right and wrong answers. i write them down if i dont know them cold for later review. most of the time, i am writing lol.. now with 17 days to go..i am writing less but doing more questions...250-350 per.. but since i have had to mix q's with used and unused for tests lately, the scores dont count.. they are in the upper 60's.. i am saving 600 unused questions for the end to get my %% score to be acurate.
but.. the consensus is that a 55 on qbank will yield a 183 on the real deal..
this is a 55 from 300 q's random unused previously questions..

i hope to be around 60 by test day..also gonna do another nbme and kaplan fee, and free 150..
see if i can get there.. 60%..should get me a 199. i would be a-ok with that.
