Hey all, just a few questions, first off I'm graduating 2 yrs ahead of my class from undergrad, but like I said this was done kind of haphazardly. So I have a lot of classes/credits and a lot of good grades but this was sort of done in an unstructured way, ie I have really few credits some semesters, some W's from before when I didn't really know what I was doing, etc.
So will this be a bad thing since I'm deviating from the 'norm'?
(I have like 4 transcripts and classes are here and there but in short, all the classes are there and they all have good grades. I may have done 19 credits and received straight As one semester but 3 credits with an A another semester, 16 over a summer, etc, just v.random)
secondly, regarding ECs, I don't want to fall short. And I know applicants are asked to do the basic shadowing/volunteering in addition to other interests. But what might be considered decent?
I'm asking because I missed a lot of opportunities for ECs this yr since I got really sick and missed the activities fair etc and I feel kinda disconnected from the school. I mean I'll have shadowing/research/volunteering hopefully but what's considered enough for a competitive applicant? And when writing out clubs etc, should you go into detail into just 'how active' you were as a member, if you don't hold a position? ie -> I did a blood drive on 9/26, I hosted an Arab dance fair on 10/08, etc?
How many main ECs should one have? And is there ample space to write about them on the application? Do they want a lot of detail? (I don't think the application is posted right now?)
Thanks a lot guys, sorry if this post was confusing.
