With respect to seeking out jobs, what are some important questions that should be asked? In particular, with the changing landscape of practice models, etc today what are the right questions that candidates should be asking.

Also, for those pathologists already practicing, what questions might you wanted to have asked in retrospect that you may not have asked during your interview?

Thanks!

How come there is not even a single answer to this question? With residents/fellows focusing on diagnostic skills and neglecting the actual practice aspects, ignorance of the real world out there is going to cost us big time. Please help.

The answers to these questions are somewhat different if you are applying for an academic vs. private job. In retrospect, based on my middle-aged perspective, far and away the most important thing is who you're going to be working with. Evaluating that requires you using whatever network you have behind the scenes to find out what type of personalities and characters you would potentially be working with.

I will try to answer additional more specific questions if you want to ask.
