Hello,

I am meeting with an admissions advisor tomorrow and wanted to see if any of you could help me with gather some questions that would be good to ask at that time.

I've read through their program on their website and gone through the criteria. The main reason I want to have a face to face meeting with the advisor was because I would like to try and explain my situation (academically and professionally) to her and see what the best course of action would be from here.

Just a little background: I graduated in 2008 with a biology degree. I was not able to find a job after I graduated and found a job at Wells Fargo. Since then I have been working here and moving my way up the ladder. The job itself is nice and gives me some sort of fulfillment, but I have always wanted to pursue pharmacy school.

I will be bringing my college transcript and any questions I have with me. I just wanted to get some input from you to see if there are any specific questions that you would ask in this situation. Any input from a pre-pharmacy, current pharmcy student, or graduate would be great. Do you think explaining my reason for pursuing pharmacy school, my current situation, and explanining my academic history would be too forward for a face to face introductory meeting with the advisor? The school itself is 6 hours away and I am taking time off of work to go. I want to make the most of it and leave an impression for when my application does get submitted.

Thanks!

I've only heard/seen my friends going to see Pharm School advisor to see what their chances are with their stats (GPA, PCAT, etc), so I'm afraid I can't comment on whether it'll be worth it to make a long trip to explain your situation.

However, I know most advisors are upfront and honest about whether you will stand a chance in receiving an interview invitation and/or admission offer. This mean the advisor may just tell you to don't even bother to apply (I don't mean to discourage at all!) but I believe if they see that you have any chance at all but lacking certain aspects then they may recommend you to retake certain classes or PCAT, etc.

Sorry I couldn't be more helpful - Good luck!

Thank you for the reply. That actually helps alot, especially in regards to what I should be expecting out of this. I appreciate it!

I have a meeting with an advisor this week as well, Can anyone else chime in on what questions would be helpful in gaining an idea of admission prospect?
