For you folks who are current IM residents and have first-hand experience on the interview trail, I'm wondering what kind of questions I should ask residents during the informal dinner and other gathering times. Specifically, I'm looking for a residency that will train me well and where the residents are happy and contented. So I'd like to know how I can get a better understanding of the real feel of the program from the residents during the "informal" gatherings. Are there any questions that you think are particularly helpful to ask? When you're talking with applicants do you usually give them the straight-up truth or do you candy-coat things so that your program will be more attractive?

Thanks and cheers!
