There are some questions confusing me at this moment
and I hope you guys can help me a bit

1. In TS Test 2 Q17, it asks something about HW-principle, and saying that 25% are recessive blue eyes with brown eyes are the dominant. It then asked what % is the heter. brown eyes.

I thought that 25%=q (in p^2 + 2pq + q^2) and the answer should be 2(0.75)(0.25), right? but the answer saying that the 25%=q^2.........so the answer should be 50%.

2. In TS Test 2 Q37, it asks how many Calvin Cycle can produce one glucose molecules. According to me experience w/ Kaplan blue book DAT test (Q.13), 10 Calvin Cycle can produce 20 PGAL, which should equal to 10 glucose molecules. But in the answer of TS, it said that 6 Calvin Cycle produce 1 glucose molecules. Which one is right?

I don't want to get a wrong concept and pick the wrong answer in the test day 🙁

1. 25% are the recessive homozygotes (qq), so to get q you take the square root and you get .5. One equation you have to know is --> p + q = 1 so therefore p is also .5. Another equation is p^2 + 2pq + q^2 = 1 with 2pq representing the heterzygot population. so.......2pq = 2*.5*.5 = 1/2 = 50%

2. 6 turns of the Calvin Benson Cycle produce 1 Glucose
2 PGAL produce 1 Glucose
