I was wondering how far back I should go back in the "CV" section of the CAS application? Should I include activites I did in college or just the ones I did in medical school?

Also what should I put on "specialty elective(s) and related activities" section? I did not do any away electives so the only thing I can really put down is what the ophtho rotation I did at my own school.

Any input will be appreciated. Thanks!!

From what I've been told (anyone can correct me) the CV should be mainly medical school related with the exception of magna cum laude, etc. I've been told publications from college were ok to be listed, but i've heard it both ways. I think it's safe if the majority is medical school related.

Specialty related activities would be ophthalmology clubs, community service, etc.

Hope that helps a little! Good luck

I can tell you what I did, which seemed to work just fine. Since I did very little in med school 😛 , I definitely included all my med school stuff. I went ahead and put my more significant college activities, especially my health care related ones. I didn't go any further back than college. And I'll tell you honestly that I only got asked about my activities on occasion. Maybe 1-2 interviewers out of 6 or so per school. That is, if anyone asked at all. Maybe I just wasn't that interesting 😛

For specialty electives, I just put my home school electives. I didn't do any aways either.

Good luck.

Thanks for your help guys!
