I'm planning on reapplying this year when the cycle opens, but I don't want to keep on bothering my professors for LORs and to send it in when the cycle opens. I searched posts on Interfolio and it seemed that people have some problems with it, but I would like some more opinions.

I remembered that they contact each professors directly with instructions on how to send the LORs with the info I provided them. How does that work with Interfolio? I found this link http://help.interfolio.com/entries/176917-applying-to-aadsas It's 2 years back...is that still how it works?

And does it really take 1-2 weeks? That seems a bit long, but I guess GPA verification is longer...so does that mean it won't delay my application?

I'm planning on applying to a SMP, too. I figured, since it's only 1 year and I'll be finished before the next school year. If I don't get in dental school, I worked on improving my application for 2014. Putting the price tag aside, is that a good idea? Does it look bad to admins that I'm applying to dental school and SMP, simultaneously?

Also, I will need LORs for SMP. Can I use the same ones that my professors wrote for dental schools? If not, would I be going overboard if I asked a professor for two LORs?

I wasted money on inter folio....I would advise you not to buy it. The normal adsas procedure of lor is fine and quite fast + efficient.

Every professor that wires you a letterer is gonna save a copy so I'm not sure about your concerns. When you ask for the recommendation letter, you can even remind the professors"hey, save a copy of this letter on case I need to apply somewhere else".

I have used Interfolio and found it invaluable! its good because you can submit your letters earlier than June 1st and then submit them to aadsas after June 1st. This was a good headache reliever I did not need to chase down my professors after June 1st. And it only cost $20.

Those who have used it before, could you guys briefly explain how the procedure works? Is there anything else the prof has to do besides submitting the letter to the Interfolio website or do we need their permission or something to have interfolio send it to AADSAS after the applications open?
I know someone else mentioned it in another forum but i didnt quite understand. Any input is greatly appreciated.

I have been using interfolio to store my LORs, haven't applied yet, but like stated above it's like 20 bucks, and I am so much calmer knowing that they are all stored safe and sound. Most importantly, I will not be chasing anyone down come June 4th.

Anyways, it's super simple for your professors and you never have to ask them for another copy if needed, it's also very ideal when you are asking ahead of time.

dentalworks made this extremely informative thread, back when I began to do some research about it http://forums.studentdoctor.net/showthread.php?t=807658 should answer most of your questions!

👍🙂

That sounds good. Is it $20 overall or each time you send it out?

Also, does anyone know if it's bad to apply to both dental school and a masters program at the same time? I would like a back-up, just in case I don't get accepted to dental school.

Thanks DentalDiva that helps a lot.
Just one more question guys! So I read the instructions and the paper submission sounds a lot easier to follow. my question is can I have the prof write the letter and put it in an envelope along w/ the request form and give it to me and I mail it to interfolio my self? I'm just afraid they might procrastinate and want to get it done with quickly.
