Hello everyone, i am going to be shadowing at the Hospital soon and need some help.

I have a variety of floors/units to choose from and have come down to 3 possible choices.

.1 ER
.2 Pediatric Oncology unit
.3 Medical Unit

I have been in the ER and medsurg before, but would really like to know from you guys what you would do.

If you have shadowed before...please tell me your experience!

I'd say Pediatric Oncology is definitely the most emotionally demanding/draining floor followed by ER.

If you think you can handle it choose whatever one you'd like.

I did clinicals as an EMT-B in the ER and it was enough for me to never want to consider medicine again.

ER is probably going to be the most interesting. Peds onc will likely be mostly shadowing rounds with things that go mostly over your head. Gen med will be similar. In terms of any sort of perceived application boost, it won't matter. Do whichever you think will be most personally interesting.
