Hi Everybody,

I've been taking NS practice FLs, and doing ok. However, I'm worried about miscellany when it comes to actually taking the real deal.

1. Can you use control-F on the real MCAT?

2. I'm prone to becoming distracted by other students while taking exams in big, open rooms. Do you take the MCAT in cubbies, or is it given in one big giant room with clear view of the other students?

3: I have a formal diagnosis of disability that meant I had optional extra time on exams at all levels of my schooling. Does the MCAT offer any forms of accommodation for disability? Really, I never needed extra time, but having a quiet isolated area to take exams is very helpful for me.

4. On practice exams, I often just click skip and get on with the next section. Can I choose to skip breaks on the real MCAT?

5. What do you recommend I bring? Food, earplugs, etc?

Bonus question: I can't remember functional groups in chem for the life of me. Any tips?

Thank you for any advice you can offer.

I just wrote the exam, so I hope I can help.

1. You cannot use the search function on the actual exam.
2. It's in cubbies and you should have ear-covers available to help cancel outside sound.
3. I'm honestly not sure how they accommodate for disabilities. Hopefully someone else could answer.
4. Definitely, you can skip through breaks and move on.
5. It's a long exam, so bring food and water, coffee, etc. Whatever you eat/drink when taking practice exams, I'd recommend doing the same. Just as with number 4, you want to practice how you take the real exam in all aspects of taking it, and not try anything novel on test day. I think you can bring earplugs (make sure they're comfortable), but they should provide over the ear covers.

Bonus: Make flashcards of each functional group and review them every day until they're easy! That's an easy way to conquer them.
