Hi,

I am preparing to apply for dental schools next year. Now I am asking my previous dental school to write the reference letter.
My question is if for the first time I failed to be accepted and next time when I re-apply, should I need send reference again?? The reason is that I really do not want to bother my previous dean twice for the letter. So I have such concers.

Thanks for your attention.

Not really, some schools expect you to submit new letters of reference. But, fortunately, they need not be from the dean. Instead, you could get them from your employer or a professor.
To the OP: The best bet, however, would be to call the schools you are looking at and ask them directly if they need the letters again. If they do they do. 🙂

Most of the schools do not have a requirement stating that you need new letters of reference.
IMO,
Along with improved scores or whatever else you send them during reapplication, it makes a good impression if you send at least 1 new letter of reference .Like the previous poster said this can be from your employer.
If you dont submit one it might not be a deal breaker ,but by sending you just show you've gone that extra mile. 🙂

HMMMMN,I GUESS U R RIGHT!THANKS FOR THE INFO,BTW! 👍

U Colorado, UCSF and UCLA ask for fresh/new recommendation letter everytime you reapply. In rare cases they do make exception. East coast schools are exception and do not set any general rule for rest of the country! Best to call up individual school before reapplication.
