Questions regarding SMP- post bac

Hey guys,

It looks like dental schools will not be giving me even an interview this year, so I have decided to enroll myself in an SMP. I applied late for the cycle and that definitely seems to have dented my chances. I have two questions regarding SMP and they are

1. If I apply now, am I considered a late applicant. I originally thought that students would apply once they realise their chances of acceptance were slim, which would be pretty much at the end of the cycle, but it seems that many are applying now.
2. Which SMP do I have a good shot at getting into considering that I would be an international applicant. Some are only state friendly and some require US citizenship.

I don't wanna put you down or anything, but those SMP's are no joke. My friend did the SMP route a few years ago and he says, when he took it at Wayne state, he was sitting in class with medical students. Its a VERY VERY hard program, and if you don't perform well in an SMP, you might never get accepted into a dental school.

You said you applied late and that hurt your chances greatly. Maybe your right, what are your stats like (GPA / DAT) and maybe you wanna wait off on the SMP and apply early this year (like as soon as June comes around), while your waiting for re-apply, just take a few post-bacc courses so that it doesn't look like you've been sitting around doing nothing (course wise speaking)

I have 23 aa 23 ts 23 pat and a gpa 3.2 and scigpa 3.3 non sci 3.1. I realise that SMP is tough,but I recently scored a 3.9 in my latest gpa and working towards the same this semester. In the end, I dont care how hard it is, I just got to do whatever it takes to get in. On the other hand, I would like to know if you think I am late to apply for SMP this cycle

regarding the SMP, just contact the schools that carry them and see what the director says.

But you got 23AA and 23TS lol, if you apply early this year, I really really think many dental schools will invite you for interview
