For those of you who have taken the real deal:

How did your score compare to those on 3R, 4R, 5R, 6R, and 7R? I just took 3R, and, as I have seen, it was not bad at all. I was pleasantly surprised by the verbal section. Does 3R tell me anything about how I would do on the real thing (should I subtract 3 point or something?) If nothing else, it helped my confidence 🙂 haha I've heard 6R and 7R are very good indicators, so I will take those in a month. Any other comments on the AAMCs would be greatly appreciated! Thanks much in advance

I took 5R 2 weekends prior to the real thing and 6R the weekend before. I beat my 5R score by 2 points and fell short of my 6R score by a point. I think they're good predictors.

I think that the aamc tests are good predictors as well. I took 3R, 4R and 6R and my actual score was the average of all of the practice tests. I think that the explanations for each correct answer are especially helpful. I didn't take any Kaplan or TPR tests, so I can't provide any input as to how accurate they are.

These are basically the only tests I took. I actually did better on the actual than on the old exams; I couldn't break 30 for the life of me on any of them and got a 33 on my actual. (But don't let this give you over-confidence.) 👍

3R is no longer close enough to the "toughness" of the real MCAT, so I discount it.

4-6R were excellent predictors; on one of them I got a 28 - the real deal handed me a 29.

Good luck.

hey guys, were the AAMC practice tests taken AFTER you were done studying all the material? Or in between?

In between for me. Because of that, all my practice tests had an upward trend on scores. 6R was one week prior to actual and I lost one point on the actual, so that was the only deviation from a steady upward trend.

3R is considered too easy. If you do them, do 5R, 6R, or 7R. I took 5R and 6R three and two weeks before the test, respectively, so after I had covered most of the material. I will take 7R about a week before the August admnin. And this time, I will have covered everything.

5R--29
6R--32
real thing--29

I had a week "off" before the real thing. Ironically, I was pumped and ready to take it on the 10th! I think I might have scored better if I did.

i got a 33 on 3R and then 34s on 4R,5R,6R,7. i lucked out on the real thing though and got a few points higher.

I took 3R before I started studying...27 (10V, 9B, 8P)...Going to take 4,5,6, and 7 starting the week after next once I've gotten through everything...Hopefully those scores will be prettier numbers 🙂

In between ... I spaced them out every week or so.

In between; not that I wanted to -- I had no choice. In fact, the first two tests I took section by section because I was still catching up to everything.

Where did you guys get the AAMC test from? I see people selling them cheap on ebay, but I'm wondering if that is legal.
