Could someone who's already been through the interview process post some of the questions that they asked (or wish they had asked)the admisscions people at the end of the interview? You could always ask about the curriculum and such, but what had you really wished you asked during your interview? and are there any questions that are considered "inappropriate" or "dangerous" (ie. asking about student resources for tutoring and such...will they think you're stupid?)
Thanks.

Bump this. I'm kinda curious too. What did people ask at the end of their interview when the interviewer asks "do you have any questions?"

I asked about the student satisfaction of a particular program the school had and why more students didn't sign up for this program. It was a program I was interested in that I knew many students tried to stay away from because it involved moving their 3rd & 4th years.

If it's not already obvious by other means, ask about things like where you will be doing core rotations, elective rotations; ask about what students do in the summer after year 1 as far as reasearch and clinical items are concerned; ask about board success rates of students; and of course the content of each particular interview lends itself to appropriate questions ...

😳 😉

there's a good list on the aamc website here:
31 questions

they won't think you're stupid if you ask about student resources, that's a great question! keep in mind at many schools you'll have faculty and student interviewers, so there may be some questions you'd rather ask the student vs. the faculty person, etc.

i used to always ask why they thought i should pick their school if i couldn't think of anything else.

good luck!
🙂

I'll ask 21 questions-

Girl...It's easy to love me now
Would you love me if I was down and out?
Would you still have love for me?....

As people are coming back from more interview perhaps they have some questions they asked to add. 🙂

I plan to ask "Are there any certain specialties/facilities/opourtunities this school is known for?"

and

"what is the average debt load upon graduation for non-disadvantaged students?"

I thought we were already supposed to know stuff like that about the school . . . to look like we are seriously considering that particular school . . . is it ok to ask those kinda questions?

I always find it hard to think of good questions to ask that can't be answered on school websites or that you should already know . . .
