I was hoping we could brainstorm on some questions that might be appropriate to ask an interviewer. Clearly if the answer is written on the website, it would be a waste of time to ask it on an interview where you only have small block of time to demonstrate your curiosity, drive, preparation, etc.
Here are some that come to mind. They may not always be appropriate.
How are the didactics scheduled and taught?
What is the educational environment like here?
Is the patient population diverse in this area?
How are residents evaluated?
Are there regular meetings between the program director and the residents?
Are there opportunities to do clinical and basic research here?
What kinds of characteristics does the successful resident in this program possess?
