So I have noticed that most people have experienced the fact that during their dental school interviews, they were expected to ask even more questions to the interviewer, than they themselves were asked!
Anyone have suggestions of inteligent/ meaningful questions to ask?
Thanks!!

Student/Faculty ratio?
Externship Opportunities?
Board Exam success rates?
Recent changes or updates to the school?
Assistants during clinical hours?
Specialty opportunities?

Just a few off the top of my head🙄, I wrote some more down on a card before when NOVA visited our school. This is actually a great thread so I'm anxious to see what others have to say!

When do you get into the clinic?
Are there enough chairs for everyone?
Are patients easy or hard to find / do they show up or do you have to hunt them down?
Classes with med students (if applicable)?

Could even go a bit more personal:

How long have you been teaching here?
Why do you enjoy teaching at 'so and so school'?

Why not ask what you want to know about the school? = meaningful

rather than

ask random questions posted by strangers on the internet? = meaningless

Ask where is the bathroomm?
When is lunch?
You call this coffee?
Do I have to take any morning classes?
Does my breath smell like garlic? (haaaaaa)

After they ask you why do you want to be a dentist?
You comeback with your response, ...
Then you ask them so why did you decide to become a dentist and go into academics? Just to see what your faculty's agenda may be.

Some more questions that may be important TOO YOU in dental school...
While working in the clinic, how long is the waiting time (generally) before you can get passed off?
Financial aid opportunities? How easy is it to get financial aid at so&so school?
What type of research opportunities do "you" provide? (if applicable)

Here's a few to get you started:

-"What is your class attendance policy? This isn't like one of those serious schools where you're into making students come to class or whatever, is it?
-"Would you say that the lyrical genius of Cobain's early work was overshadowed by the more mainstream approach he took in his later records?"
-"Y'all can carry guns in the clinic, right?"
-"When exactly do we get to start writing scripts for Percocet?"
-"Can I dye my hair purple before I start in clinic?"
-"Do you have a light?"
-"What's the babe situation around here?...I hear hygiene chicks are hot."
-"What's the policy on sleeping with faculty members...and incidently, what are you doing for dinner tonight"
-"You're a doctor right?...I have this rash on my upper thigh that maybe you could look at for me..."

Thank you Denticus. Although I do enjoy the comical ones I have noticed in other threads on here people dont take the author seriously and ive even read ones that insult the author like "if you're asking this it means you lack creativity and are lazy for coming up with a good answer". I too wondered what are some good politically correct ways of answering questions such as "weaknesses". But after searching it on the forum, theres nothing useful its just a bunch of bashing of the author. This just wastes time reading threads that have nothing going on. So thank you ppl like Denticus that have real answers.

Heres a question for schools:
Tell me a weakness of this school !! (ahaha 2 can play this game)

In all of my interviews, I asked what the interviewer liked most and least about the school. I didn't get a single straight answer. So I wish you the best of luck, but I wouldn't hold my breath if I were you. The only really good way to find out the real dirty dirty on a school is to ask the students. If I've learned one thing about dental students, it's that we will never pass up an opportunity to complain, especially if we know someone is going to listen.
