Hi everyone,
I have a few questions about OBGYN rotation:
1. what is the lifestyle like? I mean real examples from ppl out in private practice? How common are huge practices so that you take call less frequently?
2. when the average salary advertised as 200K + etc that is before or after malpractice and any law suits you may have lost? ( i mean how much do obgyns actually take home?)
3. I just wonder why there are more and more women going into obgyn -- if it is a bad lifestyle? does that mean we (women) aren't caring as much about lifestyle anymore -- or has something changed that I just don't know about? If you look on Frieda stats for m:f .. females predominate most residency programs. most female-med students I know are very concerned about their future ability to have a family -- be there for their kids ,etc. so can we explain this trend? ( i know men are concerned too)
I'm pretty interested in obgyn -- but i just want to see if my interest can ever be something realistic for me.
