Yeah. So my schools direct program is saying I have to have a 2.7 cum. does that mean average or what. I never understood what that meant

Also can anyone recommend some good tips on studying....last sem. i did decent with a 3,1 but I need to get higher considering this is just my first year.

Thanks.

2.7 cum, I believe means 2.7 cummulative GPA That's what I think, but you should ask, there should be some advisor of your school direct program to help you out.

Studying ... well, they told me for every 1 hr lecture time, 3 hr independent studying. They also told me ... rewrite notes and make everything interesting (even if it really isn't) And go to learning center (school provided tutoring center or get help somehow if you're lagging or afraid of starting to lag in classes)

What works for a lot of people is to read over the material you will cover- before the lecture, pay attention and take good notes, then review your notes after class. Then look at the end of chapter questions and work through the ones you don't understand. Join a study group and get practice writing and talking about the material, rather than just thinking about it. Challenge yourself to get every point on each test an assingment, not just the "A". Visit the teacher during office hours, just chatting about the material will help you retain it, and the teacher is the best source of information. Budget enough time to cover the material, then spend another hour covering it after that.

Do all that with the attitude that you want to learn the material and not just get through the class, you will be in good shape.
