I was not sure where to post this topic. If I post it in the pre-pharmacy forum they might not know the answer....
I have an interview coming up and one of my professors is doing a research in pharmacoeconomiucs and the other one in nuclear pharmacy.
Can you give me please some ideas? I do not want to sound dumb and ask, so, what are you studying in pharmaco economics? Or how is your rheumatic and decubitus ulser treatment research in nuclear pharmacy going?

I did search them. And
1)one is doing a research in pharmaco economics.\, primarily phramacy manpower, cancer prevention and screening, cost-effectiveness tsudies and quality of life studies.

2) and the other one in nuclear pharmacy....primarily topical therapies for rheumatic diseases and decubitus ulcer treatement.

what kind of questions could I ask them about their research?

Do you think professors really fall for that crap? I'm not belittling you, I'm honestly asking. I remember when I was interviewing for pharmacy school, another student was there with a printed out research article written by one of the professors that was interviewing us. He was asking questions about the article and professor's research while we there. The whole thing just seemed a little to pretenious. If I was a professor and some pre-pharm that we were inteviewing was asking me questions about my research and it was obvious they weren't geniunely interested my work, I probably wouldn't think too highly of them. It would seem like they were just trying to suck up to me in an attempt to make up for deficiencies in their application or something. Then again, that guy did get accepted with me, so maybe some profs like that kind of thing 🙄

I have a different perspective here. When I went to my interview I made sure I had read the most recent research of all prospective staff and faculty interviewers. I knew what schools they went to and the general outline of their careers from their CV and other data. It's a good idea to do your diligence on this; it demonstrates a serious commitment to finding a good fit with a program, it's faculty, and your interests. It's not pretentious if you don't trip over yourself slobbering about every bit of research they've done in order to *appear* informed and interested. Speak intelligently and ask insightful questions about it but, know when to steer the conversation to other topics. Although their research is undoubtedly important, it's most likely not the sole identity of the program or its faculty. Sincerity is key here. If you're not seriously interested in them or their research, it *will* seem pretentious because it's dishonest. I don't ever "game" anything, just be yourself and be sincere. I think that's what p-rog is really getting at.

Our school recommends that we do ask about their research and I am just asking you to help me to compose intelligent questions. Please,please, please help me on what to ask about their research...I have an interview on Wednesday, so if you could just give me an examples of questions about nuclear pharmacy and pharmaco economics, that would help me immensely.

• Have you looked at the financial impact of CMS guideline on Erythropoeitin dosing?
• What impact will pending generic of Primaxin and Zosyn will have on antibiotic cost throughout the USA? Will it have a similar impact as generic Zofran and generic Rocephin?
• What kind of disparity of perception are you seeing with cost avoidance reports between pharmacy and hospital admin through clinical pharmacy interventions?

Well, in order to ask those questions, there should be certain baseline understanding of the topic.

There's a lot to nuclear pharmacy. Is there a specific area that the prof is interested in? Just asking random questions about a general topic isn't going to impress anyone.
