From what I've heard most of the didactic (science lecture) classes are all just lectures with multiple choice / fill in the blank tests. The other large part of dental school is clinical, and take starts after your second year, but you have pre-clinical stuff before that where you're working on dummies, and that's, well - you're using your hands.
The DAT is required, it's all multiple choice and taken on a computer, the subjects are Bio, General Chemistry, Organic Chemistry, PAT (Perceptual Ability - search for it, it's difficult to explain), Reading Comprehension, and Quantitative Reasoning (Math).
Dental is one of those professions that's its very good to get some experience about the field before you start going down that path. You should do plenty of job shadowing before you pick that dental is for you. And you can always just work on your English skills if you need to, most community colleges have classes to help you with that if you need.
