I've heard varying statements from a slew of people, so I just want to clarify, is one mole of an ideal gas at STP 22.4 liters or is one mole of ANY gas at STP 22.4 L? Is it strictly for an ideal gas or any gas?! lol

An ideal gas can be any gas, the "ideal" part just refers to a group of assumptions that are used to view gasses in a simple manner (hope that makes sense!). 🙂 the way to look at it would be a mole of any ideal gas at STP is 22.4L

The number 22.4L is actually derived from your "ideal gas law," PV=nRT. So yes, it's for an ideal gas. I don't think you need to know van der Waal's equation for real gases for the DAT.
I've never seen it personally, but can anyone else confirm this?

I second that statement; I considered trying to memorize it, but literally never saw it come up in any of the practice tests/destroyer/whatnot I looked at
